This course is a practical introduction to the technology of single-stage PET stretch blow molding. It gives participants in-depth instructions on how to set up and run the machine for optimal bottle quality. 

 

Topics include:

 

-         To make a good bottle we need a good preform: the need to start right

-         Injection speeds, pressures, switch-over point

-         Hot runner manifolds: design and control  

-     Update: Viscous heating, explanation and solutions

-         How to control the cushion and what it means to the process

-         Fast or slow injection and how it changes the blowing parameters

-         The conditioning station: control of optimal wall distribution

-         Stretch rods: Tip designs, adjustments

-         First and second blow pressure: the secret of timing and how it relates to bottle wall thickness

-         Common molding problems and their solutions

 

 

Who should attend?

 

Operators, processors, plant engineers that are new to single-stage molding, or who want to refresh their knowledge and gain new insights. This is a beginner’s course: an advanced course will be offered shortly.
